Some of the pioneer software programs are Apple FCS, VideoStudio (Ulead), Adobe Premiere, Avid, Sony Vegas, Montage Extreme, MAGIX, Lightworks, and Media 100. Television programs and films often use these software programs. Some companies and videographers use custom hardware for their video processing needs. There are still other programs out there like that of IMovie, WMM, Nero 8, Pinnacle Systems, GEAR Video, Muvee, AutoProducer, and Virtual Dub.

Editing cards and computers are readily available in the market for videographers. The software packages should suit the other hardware you purchase so that you can work smoothly. With so many software programs to choose from, there are times when videographers are not able to pick the most appropriate one that can meet their needs.

You need to be a wise customer. Don’t go for the first video editing program that you see. Instead, try to shop around and know your choices. Read customer reviews and software ratings.
