3 Unique Paso Robles Wineries

If you are planning a visit to Paso Robles, California, you will be pleased with all of your options, in terms of wineries open to the public. There are over one hundred for you to choose from. Having a choice is nice, but it can make making a decision seem like an impossible task. If you are having difficulty deciding which Paso Robles wineries to visit, continue reading on for three great choices.

1 - Rotta Vineyard and Winery

As for why a visit to the Rotta Winery and Vineyard is recommended, it is because it can give you a look at the history of Paso Robles and the surrounding area. This winery is one of the first three established in the area. It got its start in 1908. According to its official website, Rotta Winery and Vineyard is the only remaining “family owned original winery,” in the county. This is a large feat, considering they started in 1908.

According to their official website, the Rotta Winery specializes in red, white, and dessert wines. Available for sale you will find the Trinity 2004, the Heritage Zinfandel 2005, and the Zinfandel Rose 2007, just to name a few.

The Rotta Vineyard and Winery tasting room is open daily from 10am until 5pm. If you like what you see while visiting, enroll in their wine club. For an affordable price, you receive two complimentary bottles of wine shipped to your home and many other inceptives.

Nadeau Family Vintners

Nadeau Family Vintners is unlike many other wineries in the area. It is considered an “estate micro-winery.” Despite its small size, the winery is known for participating in local wine events, including the Winemaker’s Open House and the Harvest Wine Weekend.

Although the tasting room will not necessarily scream luxury and elegancy, it may be the perfect experience for you. According to their official website, their tasting room doubles as their experimental lab. In fact, the professional, yet laidback environment makes this micro-winery worth the stop. Their tasting room is open daily from 11am to 5pm.

Stacked Stone Cellars

The Stacked Stone Cellars got its start in 1998. Although “new,” considered by many people’s standards, you will find nothing but a fine winery surrounding by beautiful landscape. In fact, this winery comes highly rated and recommended, despite its “young,” age.

What is unique about the Stacked Stone Cellars is who they welcome. The estate is considered family friendly. On their website, they actually encourage you to bring a picnic and enjoy the day. Most unique, they are a pet-friendly winery, which is basically unheard of in the area.

Their tasting room, which is located in the barrel room, is open Friday through Sunday from 11am until 5pm. Weekday tasting are available by appointment only. At Stacked Stone Cellars, you can enjoy complimentary wine tasting.

As a reminder, the Stacked Stone Cellars, Rotta Vineyard and Winery, and the Nadeau Family Vintners are just three of the many wineries open to the public in the area. Why are these three wineries recommended? Because they all have something unique to offer.

If you still cannot decide which wineries to visit, consider booking a guided wine tour. For an affordable fee, transportation will be provided to you, as well as discounts and complimentary wine tasting at many of the area’s fine wineries.
